Social media banner

Social media banner shows a wall or row of tiles that look like your social feed — each tile is a post image or clip you upload, with a link to the platform.

Use it to show the life of your brand beyond the store. You upload each post yourself — the section does not connect to Instagram, TikTok, or any platform, and it doesn’t show follower counts. What it gives you is a fast, on-brand wall that links out.

  1. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes and click Edit theme. (Older admin versions label this button Customize.)
  2. Open the template where you want the section.
  3. Click Add section and choose Social media banner — it is added with six empty Social post blocks already in place; fill those before adding more (up to 12).
  4. Set your Profile link, then upload an image or video into each post and save.

LayoutGridGrid / Scrolling row / With follow tileGrid is a fixed block of tiles; Scrolling row swipes sideways; With follow tile reserves the first tile for a follow card

  1. Add the section and paste your profile URL into Profile link — with it set, a follow button appears beside the heading in every layout.
  2. Fill the six starting Social post blocks: upload each post’s image (or a video). Keep in mind a tile with a video plays the video instead of following its link — use videos only where playback matters more than the click-through.
  3. Pick the Platform per post — it draws the little platform icon on hover. Remove spare blocks with Remove block, or add more with Add block → Social post (up to 12).
  4. Save and check the phone: the row layout scrolls sideways there too.

  • Square (1:1) around 800×800 px suits most walls; Portrait (4:5) uses around 800×1000 px.
  • Videos play with their own controls — the image doubles as the cover until then.
  • Download the post image from your platform account and upload it here; keep a square crop handy.
  • No automatic feed. New posts don’t appear by themselves — add a block per post you want to feature.
  • No follower numbers. The section deliberately avoids counts that would need constant updating.
  • Posts link out. A post without its own link opens your Profile link.
  • Hover effects need a mouse; on touch screens tiles simply tap through.

Community wall. Grid, 8 Square tiles, mixed platform icons, one shared profile link — a monthly-refreshed gallery.

TikTok-first row. With follow tile layout, 6 Portrait tiles with short Shopify-hosted clips, one profile link — the follow card leads the row.

New Instagram posts don’t show up by themselves. There is no live connection — upload each post you want to feature. That keeps the page fast and fully under your control.

My tile has a video and ignores its link. The video takes over the tile; remove the video if the click-through matters more.

Where did the follow button go? Two different things to check: the follow button beside the heading shows in every layout, but only when Profile link is filled in. The follow tile as the first card exists only in the “With follow tile” layout — the other layouts don’t add it.
